I received this Director of National Intelligence Diversity memo upon my Entry on Duty at the Defense Intelligence Agency on October 30, 2006. These letters are standard and each director issues a similar letter when they begin their terms, stressing the need for diversity. The Intelligence Community lags behind the rest of the United States Government in recruiting, retaining and promoting qualified women and minorities.
