Ask.com officially powered down its servers on May 1, 2026, bringing an end to one of the internet’s longest-running and perhaps most polite search brands. If you were a fan of the site, you’d probably agree it deserves a better obituary than “old search engine finally shuts down.”

Amazon Extends Price History Tool to One Year, Providing Much-Needed Transparency Around Deals

Amazon is making it easier for shoppers to gain insight into its fluctuating prices, expanding its price history tool to show up to a year of data. The change, announced May 1, is a significant upgrade over the previous version of the tool, which allowed a lookback of only 30 or 90 days. Even with that limited window, Amazon says more than 50 million people used the feature since it launched in 2024.

The latest update will give customers even greater ability to answer the burning question behind every apparent deal listed on the website: Is this actually a good price?

That’s a question that has nagged at many Amazon customers for years. Many shoppers have expressed suspicion on Reddit, X, and other social media sites that some merchants would raise prices just before announcing a sales event, then sell the items at their regular price, but with a “discount” badge attached. Google’s Gemini Car Rollout Brings AI to the Dashboard

Drivers of cars with built-in Google functionality will soon see Gemini AI replace the older Google Assistant. English-language users in the United States will be the first to get the upgrade, announced April 30. Cars currently running on Google Assistant will receive Gemini AI with their next software update.

So long as you’re eligible and signed in to your Google Account, you’ll be prompted to make the switch once it’s available.

A couple of days before Google’s announcement, GM said it would bring Gemini to its vehicles, of which 4 million in the U.S. are eligible for the update. The automaker said the software update will roll out over several months to eligible 2022 and newer Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC vehicles.
